The default.qutrit device is PennyLane’s simple simulator of qutrit-based quantum circuit architectures.

Recommended for:

  • Qutrit state vector simulations.
  • Workflows requiring industry standard qutrit gates.
  • Differentiable workflows via built-in backpropagation support.
  • All operating systems.

Installation

The default.qutrit device is included in PennyLane. It can be installed with:

pip install pennylane

Device Initialization

Initialize the device in PennyLane with:

import pennylane as qml
dev = qml.device('default.qutrit', wires=5)
