The following is a joint post with Ben Castanon from the Unitary Fund, sharing a call for everyone in the quantum community to take the 2023 Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) Survey and give feedback on the state of the quantum community and industry.

Each fall, the Unitary Fund organizes the Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) Survey — the perfect opportunity for all members of the quantum community to give their feedback on the current state of the field and help guide its development. If you use, have used, plan to use, or develop quantum software, this is your chance to share your feedback, state your needs, and shape our growing ecosystem together with the entire community!

Please take 10 minutes out of your day and take the 2023 Quantum Open Source Software Survey to contribute to a bright future of quantum open source. But don't dawdle, the 2023 QOSS Survey closes on October 27!

The QOSS Survey is the first and largest community-wide survey for the quantum open source ecosystem. It covers information on demographics, experience, development, research, as well as the quantum open source community as a whole, and all aggregated and anonymized results will be shared publicly by the end of the year via the channels of the Unitary Fund. The 2022 QOSS Survey drew in more than a thousand respondents, and its results have been a valuable resource for everyone who wants to better understand and respond to the needs of the quantum computing community — including the PennyLane Team. 😉

Whether you're a coder, student, researcher or developer, take the 2023 Quantum Open Source Software Survey by October 27, help us spread the word, and make your voice heard!

We at the Unitary Fund would also like to take this opportunity to thank Xanadu for their ongoing support of open source quantum technology, as well as all the developers at PennyLane, Strawberry Fields and more, for their amazing work as advisors, maintainers and volunteers for Unitary Fund projects and events throughout the year. Thank you for your help in building a better quantum computing ecosystem!
