The following is a joint post with Ben Castanon from the Unitary Foundation inviting everyone in the quantum community to take the 2025 Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) Survey.

It's that time of the year! The Unitary Foundation has just released their annual Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) Survey, which has become a key resource for the open-source quantum software community. This survey provides a great opportunity for everyone in the community—whether software users or developers—to share their feedback and help shape the future of quantum open source. If you use, have used, or plan to use any kind of quantum software, this is your chance to make your voice heard.

Please take a few minutes to complete the 2025 Quantum Open Source Software Survey and help contribute to a bright future of quantum open source. ✨

But don't wait too long, because the Survey will close on October 3!

The 2025 Quantum Open Source Software (QOSS) Survey, conducted by the Unitary Foundation.

The QOSS Survey is the largest community-wide survey for the quantum open-source ecosystem. Its main goal is to collect an inclusive dataset that accurately represents current and prospective quantum coders—covering a range of topics, including demographics, experience, research interests, software tools, and community resources.

By participating and spreading the word about this survey, you can help ensure we develop open-source quantum software that truly works for the community.

The results of the survey are an invaluable resource for anyone working to build a better quantum computing community, including us at the PennyLane Team. The aggregated and anonymized results are shared publicly by the Unitary Foundation at the end of the year. To learn more about the QOSS Survey and the work of the Unitary Foundation, visit the Unitary Foundation website or see the Unitary Foundation posts on the PennyLane Blog.
