About
I have been a professional software engineer for over 27 years. I know how to build software at a very large scale, and I can meet some of the tightest deadlines. I’ve written code in most all the major languages, and even some that were custom-built. I’ve done web-development, mobile-development, firmware development, and even project management development. But something is missing. I’m getting a little bored with it all. Don’t get me wrong; I love computers. I have since I was 6 years old. I’ve been programming them since that time; making them do things others didn’t think they could do. In other words, spending every waking hour trying to make them do something cooler and more advanced. I could continue on with my job and be very happy indeed, but again something is missing.
Several years ago, I came across a book about quantum computation. I was intrigued. I didn’t know that field was a reality yet. After some Googling, I came across articles talking about a real quantum machine, namely, the d-Wave II. I read as much as I could about it and the field of quantum computation. For the second time, the first being when I was six years old, computers became exciting and new. I have bored my friends talking about quantum physics and computational theory to the point that they tell me to change subjects. I can’t help it though. This is pioneering stuff, and the world will be different because of it. So, now my main career objective is doing research into the design and implementation of a fully functioning quantum algorithms.
