Yongshan Ding is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and of Applied Physics at Yale University. He is a faculty member of the Yale Quantum Institute (YQI) and is affiliated with the Computer Systems Lab (CSL). He is the director of Yale's Quantum Science and Engineering certificate program. In 2025, he received the IEEE QTC Distinguished Early Career Award for outstanding contributions in quantum computing and engineering. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER Award in 2024, and the Siebel Scholarship in 2021. Ding completed his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, receiving the William Rainey Harper Dissertation Fellowship, one of UChicago's highest honors. Prior to that, he received his B.Sc. degrees in Computer Science and Physics from Carnegie Mellon University.
